TROMBONE

Barnaby has been fortunate enough to play all over the world as part of many acts and alongside artists such as Muse, Bastille, Lorde, The Wombats, Public Service Broadcasting, The Staves, Harry Connick Jr, Michael Bublé, The Hoosiers, The Barr Brothers, The Walkmen, London Contemporary Orchestra, The Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, BBC Concert Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Opera North, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Shakespeare’s Globe.

He has played on many film, television and video game soundtracks as well as on major music releases by many of the artists listed above.

Barnaby also has had wonderful experiences in London’s West End theatres, playing music for shows such as Crazy for You, Frozen, Cabaret, Guys and Dolls, Matilda, Bat Out of Hell, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Strictly Ballroom, Show Boat, Aladdin, and Follies at the National Theatre

Barnaby studied at the Royal College of Music and soon after made appearances as Principal Trombone in The Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, The European Union Youth Orchestra and The Aldeburgh World Orchestra. He gained a BMus with First Class Honours and an MMus with Distinction in 2011 and 2012, respectively, under the expert guidance and tutelage of Lindsay Shilling, Byron Fulcher and Rich Edwards.

 

He has a strong interest in composing, arranging, writing and photography and is always keen to integrate them all with each other, and with music, as much as possible.
